Sports Meet and Republic Day Celebrations at The Satsang Vidyalaya

The Satsang Vidyalaya celebrated it’s annual sports meet from the 21st to 23rd January 2016 on their school grounds.

Divided into four categories – Super Juniors comprising the I and II standard children to the Seniors from High School, the children participated in the games with enthusiasm and was replete with fun –filled competition. The three days had events like the 100 metre dash, long jump, sack race, 4 x 100 metres relay and games like kho-kho, kabbadi, volleyball and throwball for both boys and girls.

The games were launched in the presence of local leaders like the Municipal Councillors of Gandhipuram, Smt. Radha and Nakalladinne, Smt Jhansi. The meet was inaugurated by Smt. Bhagyalakshmi, Chief Coordinator of The Velagu School, a well-known establishment for the differently-abled. Children also put up a colourful cultural show as part of the opening.

The closure on Day 3 saw parents participating in games of musical chairs, Tug of War and Throw ball. It was indeed heartening to see ladies from the community, the teachers and the non-teaching staff of the school participating in full gusto. The Satsang Foundation Governing Council members and administrators gave away the prizes to the young achievers.

Republic Day Celebrations

The 67th Republic Day was celebrated with a spirit of patriotism by the School with homage to the martyrs of the freedom struggle. The flag was hoisted by Sri Anand Kumar, from Accounts and Administration.

The children presented a colourful cultural programme of dances and pyramid formations. The high school girls and a teacher spoke in English about the significance of The Republic Day, recalling the sacrifices of the leaders who fought for independence and brought into reality, our own Constitution.

The celebrations ended with sweets being distributed to the children.
