Celebrating World Health Day through the first quarter of 2025

Healthier Lives, Brighter Futures

The first three months of 2025 have brought significant advancements at Swaasthya Hospitals, reinforcing its commitment to providing free and accessible, high-quality healthcare, particularly for underserved communities. As a secondary care facility, Swaasthya Hospitals has introduced new medical departments, introduced advanced diagnostic equipment, and intensified its outreach initiatives to bridge the healthcare gap in rural areas.

Advancing medical infrastructure

A major milestone this quarter was the inauguration of a dedicated Radiology Department by Sri M, equipped with state-of-the-art CT scan, ultrasound, and X-ray machines. These additions enhance diagnostic capabilities, enabling non-invasive, real-time imaging for precise diagnoses and effective treatment plans. From monitoring expectant mothers to detecting cardiovascular and other medical conditions, these equipment ensure timely medical intervention.

Strengthening outreach and preventive healthcare

The medical outreach initiatives of Swaasthya Hospitals continue to extend healthcare access to remote communities. In the first quarter alone, 30 health camps were conducted across a 70-km radius around Madanapalle, benefiting 1500 adults and 550 children. These camps included

  • 13 school health camps
  • 6 general medicine camps
  • Specialty camps: Cardiology (1), Dental (1), Nephrology (1), Neurology (1), Gynecology (1), Orthopedic (1), CPR Training (1)
  • World Cancer Day Awareness Camp

Additionally, the first dedicated Operation Theatre was inaugurated on 21 July 2024 and the dedicated Labor Room was opened on 27 October 2024 with the first delivery. A total of 21 surgeries, including 2 orthopedic procedures, 13 general surgeries, and 5 LSCS cesarean deliveries have since been successfully carried out.

Expanding maternal and child healthcare

On 7 April 2025 as Swaasthya Hospitals celebrated World Health Day, the theme of Healthy Beginnings, Hopeful Futures underscored the importance of maternal and newborn health. On 26 March 2025, Sri M inaugurated a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and a dedicated Delivery Service Room marking a significant step in reducing maternal and infant mortality especially in rural areas with limited healthcare access.

Swaasthya Hospitals primarily serves ten neighboring villages, where anemia and malnutrition are prevalent among women. Through early diagnosis, regular prenatal check-ups, and timely interventions, the hospital is actively improving maternal and child health outcomes.

Expanding its reach into interior villages through outreach efforts, the team of doctors is also empowering women with health education, helping them recognize early symptoms and seek timely medical interventions to prevent and manage complications.

Holistic approach to maternal and child health

  • Prenatal care and counseling: Quarterly camps provide nutrition guidance, health assessments, and counseling.
  • Advanced diagnostics: Ultrasound with fetal Doppler and Non-Stress Test (NST) help aid in early detection of complications.
  • Safe deliveries: A fully-equipped labor room with obstetricians and anesthetists on call 24/7 ensures safe births.
  • Postnatal and neonatal care: The new NICU provides specialized medical attention for newborns requiring immediate support.

Your support matters

As a charitable hospital, Swaasthya’s growth and impact are made possible through generous contributions. Donations help sustain outreach activities, enhance hospital facilities, and provide free, day-to-day healthcare services—especially for mothers and children— and receive the care they need at no cost.

By supporting maternal and child health today, we build healthier communities and brighter futures for generations to come.
