Intelligence in Sankhya is called buddhi, mind is called manas. Manas and buddhi are related to each other through the sthoola sharira, to the physical body, then there is also the sukshma sharira, which is the subtle body, and there is atman. So even buddhi, however much it expands, is not atman.
