Global Leadership and Organizations

Sri M's influence extends far beyond India. He has established several organizations to spread the message of peace and holistic living. He founded The Satsang Foundation in India, which serves as the core of his spiritual and social work. Globally, his mission is carried forward through:

• The Sacred Grove Foundation (UK): A center for consciousness and well-being.

Sri M is also the Chancellor of Maulana Azad National Urdu University, a Central University. He is on the Faculty of the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi and is an Honorary Professor of Human Values at the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta.

Walk of Hope

His most significant social initiative was the Manav Ekta Mission, which culminated in the historic Walk of Hope (2015–16). He led a 7,500-kilometer march from Kanyakumari to Srinagar, touching millions of lives to promote interfaith harmony and sustainable living. This spirit of service extends globally through the Satsang Foundation, which oversees numerous projects in healthcare, environment, and social welfare. Sri M has also initiated a Yoga Research Centre, the International Yoga Research Foundation (IYRF) in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.

Education and Artistry

As an educationist, Sri M has established institutions like The Peepal Grove School, which emphasizes holistic development and creative thinking. He believes that true education should liberate the mind and foster compassion. He has also set up free schools for the less privileged in Madanapalle and near Delhi, India's capital.

His creative side finds expression through the brush. As an accomplished painter, he has used his art to raise funds to launch or sustain his initiatives until they are self-sufficient. His writings, including the bestselling autobiography Apprenticed to a Himalayan Master, have been translated into several languages, guiding seekers worldwide.

In recognition of his distinguished service to society, Sri M has been bestowed with several prestigious honors:

• Padma Bhushan (2020): One of India's highest civilian awards for distinguished service in the field of Spirituality.
• Honorary Doctorate: Honoris Causa PhD by IIM Calcutta in 2025 for his significant spiritual and humanitarian contributions for the betterment of society.
