Om Namah Shivaya is one of the great Maha Mantras, described in the Agamas, Upanishads, Puranas, Shiva Samhita. Om means the Supreme Being beyond the grasp of the senses. Namah Shivaya means I bow down to that Shiva, that supreme bliss. In Sanskrit, Shivam also means blissfulness, Ananda. Om Namah Shivaya - I bow down to that supreme bliss who is in the form of Shiva.
