If senses are controlled by the life force images would be destroyed and mind becomes free of all feelings , emotions ,thoughts and thus becomes free from further karma . That's what Shivaradhana gives taking Shiva as the symbol of Anantha chithanyam and not as one of the triamvirate of Brahma ,Vishnu , SHIVA .
