The mind of a yogi becomes like the flame of a lamp that does not flicker.
Once the mind becomes disciplined, then it can be established solely on the inner Self. Then, it is free from the longing for other things. Only then, you are free.
Moderation in all areas - eating, drinking, sleeping, and also entertainment. It takes your mind off its constant work. But don’t make entertainment your sole aim in life.
Human beings cannot exist without food and water in the 'Kaliyuga.' Of course, you can practice moderation. The body should've enough nourishment. But, all in moderation.
If the body has not rested and is not alert, then it cannot meditate. It'll impact the mind. So, keep your body in a state where it's not tortured by lack of sleep or extreme fasting.
We like to confine ourselves to the thought that we are puny little beings with our own interests, wandering here and there. But, in actuality, we are not.
