The SSDC centre was established in 2018 with the sole intention of improving the prospects of students by understanding, guiding and strengthening their innate abilities towards a path of a successful adult life. In a span of six years, we have successfully executed 11 batches of more than 260+ students in developing skills and attitudes to participate positively in society.
Salient Features
- Life Skills Development: The curriculum prioritizes critical thinking, problem-solving, assertiveness, financial management, and health management; areas where rural youth find themselves at a disadvantage. Consequently, students get to learn and grow on the job, and make career choices with a long-term view.
- Experienced Mentorship: Students benefit from the guidance of local trainers and volunteers with diverse industry experience, ensuring practical training and real-world application of their skills.
- Reliable Track Record: Thus far, SSDC has had 12 batches of students complete their course. Of the 260 students enrolled since inception, more than 170 of them have been placed in retail, finance, banking, and agricultural companies in Bangalore, Chennai, and Madanapalle.
- Community Ownership: SSDC, a division of The Satsang Foundation led by Padma Bhushan Sri M, is laser-focused on raising the community’s youth to market competency and helping them in pursuing opportunities for their own growth and self-sufficiency.

The Initial Stages
An intensive and open canvassing process is carried out at the Village Sachivalayas with the assistance of village volunteer, College visits, village meetings, NGO meetings, Government school training programs, alumina groups to facilitate the enrollment of students.
The SSDC centre adopts distinct strategies in educating the youth aged between 18-25 years in and around the towns and villages of Madanapalle, Chittoor, Annamayya and Ananthpur districts. Education is imparted in various courses like English skills, Tally and Accounting principles, MS office tools like Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Life skills Maths, to encourage initiative in this young target audience and help them find their way in the world. They are nurtured and encouraged in a supportive and caring environment to work diligently to reach their potential. Our environments are well-equipped to inculcate in them, confidence to get integrated into a world of opportunities.
Encouraging Social Activities
The Centre makes a conscious effort to encourage participation in extra-curricular activities in the outdoors and social activities. Some of these include promoting hygiene and green spaces to ensure a safe environment. Such campaigns are conducted in collaboration with Swaasthya Hospitals. Others include blood donation camps, walkathons, industry visits and even a visit to the Peepal Grove school. This aids in providing them with a greater ownership of the services being rendered and how to take them forward.
Implementing Courses for a Young Adult group
Qualified personnel in various academic streams become the vanguards of training the students in a dedicated fashion. The tutors make for passionate guides willing to go the extra mile to watch the lives of these students bear fruition.
Placements
The Centre offers complete support to ensure that a successful completion of a four-month course at SSDC serves well for this age group to avail of placements in wide-ranging industries like BPOs, Hospitality, Billing and Retail across renowned Indian organizations. A note-worthy mention of some includes Reliance Digital, Trends, Hotel Management Services (HMS Bengaluru airport), IBM, Fincorp, Ison BPO, Swaasthya Hospital and the Satsang Vidyalaya. The placements are made in cities and towns like Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Tirupati to name a few.
