The Manav Ekta Mission’s MyTree campaign will conduct a planting drive in Madanapalle during the 2016 Gurupurnima celebrations. The planting, led by Sri M, will be held at 9.00 am on 19 July 2016 in Satsang Nagar, Madanapalle.
The planting site at Satsang Nagar will be a flagship location for the MyTree campaign—in addition to the ancillary sites identified elsewhere in the country. On Gurupurnima, individuals can sponsor a tree/s at the identified location.
The tree can be sponsored in the name of someone beloved—a friend or relative. It could also be for an individual we respect—a notable personality, or to mark a special occasion.
The planted trees will feature a nametag—bearing name of the person sponsoring the tree, the name of the person or the purpose for which the tree is planted, and the tree’s nomenclature like local name, scientific name and code.
The sponsorship will involve an annual maintenance fee of Rs.1000 per tree per year — the cost of the sapling, its maintenance and watering for a year. Satsang Nagar is a dry region with clayey soil and planting necessitates deeper pits and a sustainable watering infrastructure.
