Traditionally, according to the yoga shastras, the cross-legged position is very good for meditation. It’s related to the energy channels in our system, which are called the ida, pingala and sushumna. Sitting cross-legged helps adjust the energy levels, the prana and apana, which flows through the nadis, the energy channels.
