6th November 2015, Sri M’s birthday was a day when the children of The Satsang Vidyalaya in Madanapalle and the community workers from SWECHA came together to walk through the town of Madanapalle, with the message of peace and harmony.
The walk with about a 100 children had the tiny tots from The Satsang Rural School dancing to the rhythmic chakka bhajans led by their teachers. They walked on the main roads of the town holding placards proclaiming the objectives of the Walk of Hope.
There was a public screening of the short film, “250 Days of the Walk of Hope 2015-16” the evening. A cultural show was also presented which had group dances and the high school students reading out messages about the padyatra. Sri M’s birthday program had a fitting finale with the children taking the pledge of One Humanity – “We promise to live together, no matter what religion, we belong to. We promise not to cause injury to any beings through thoughts words and deeds as far as possible. We promise to live together as one humanity and respect differences in our views. We sincerely believe that divinity resides in all hearts.”
The day ended with distribution of sweets and savouries to the children and the gathering.
