The Madanapalle Ashram: Sacred sanctuary for spiritual seekers

The Satsang Foundation Ashram, located in a tranquil space just off the Bengaluru highway in Madanapalle, is a serene hub housing several initiatives of the Foundation: The Satsang Vidyalaya, the Bharat Yogavidya Kendra, Swaasthya Hospitals, Madhu Ki Rasoi, the community kitchen, and the Gaushala. Each of these initiatives have their own sphere of activity and the portals of the Ashram welcome a host of visitors, guests, and local residents into this gentle ecosystem throughout the year.

Seekers of all backgrounds can spend moments in silent contemplation, meditation, and swadhyaya (self-study) at various places on the campus. The revered Peepal Tree and the Shivalaya, the tree-lined pathway that borders this central space, and the Adinath Sri Guru Mahavatar Babaji Temple offer solace to all.

Lodging

Bright, clean, and airy rooms are available for visitors and sadhaks at Vasant Vihar and Aashray – residential quarters situated right next to the campus. Modern amenities and a comfortable stay ensure an engrossing experience focussed on the seeker’s need for quiet reflection.

Daily Meals

Madhu Ki Rasoi, the in-house community kitchen of the Foundation, is a sacred prasadalaya, serving freshly-prepared meals at breakfast, lunch, and dinner to everyone on the campus at no cost.

Volunteering

In the spirit of Sri M’s teachings on Seva and Karma Yoga, The Satsang Foundation has opened the Madanapalle Ashram Campus to committed volunteers. This program offers an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the Foundation’s various initiatives while immersing oneself in ashram life.

The sevas include specific duties and responsibilities related to the initiatives.

  • Kitchen & Dining Hall: Cleaning and organizing utensils, glasses, and dining areas; assisting with meal preparation and serving; maintaining hygiene standards.
  • Gaushala: Caring for the cows (feeding, cleaning, general upkeep); maintaining the cleanliness of the Gaushala premises.
  • Hospital: General assistance and support (non-medical roles); maintaining the hygiene protocol in designated areas.
  • Temple: Cleaning and upkeep of the area surrounding the Adinath Sri Guru Babaji Temple and the Shivalaya.
  • Campus Maintenance & Housekeeping: General cleaning and tidying of common areas and volunteer accommodations; assisting with campus upkeep and beautification.
  • Administrative, Media & Outreach Support: Assisting with projects (e.g., data entry, communication support); general office tasks if need be; writing, reporting, taking videos or photos; archiving work.
  • The Satsang Vidyalaya: Assisting staff at The Satsang Vidyalaya (non-teaching support, e.g., organizing materials, supervising activities).
  • Environmental Initiatives: Participating in “plogging” (picking up litter while walking) during evening walks; supporting other environmental activities in and around the campus.

A genuine interest in selfless service (Seva) and alignment with the teachings and values of Sri M and The Satsang Foundation are required from interested volunteers as they work together and walk hand-in-hand to support the community.
