For 25 years, The Satsang Vidyalaya (TSV) in Madanapalle has been a place where first-generation learners from underprivileged backgrounds have received education along with the skill and confidence to step into mainstream society with dignity. What started as a small initiative has grown into a school that nurtures both learning and life skills, ensuring that children are equipped for a better future.
Building a strong foundation

In its early years, TSV focused on basic literacy—Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing (LSRW)—to help students develop the fundamental skills needed to progress in their education. Most children who came to the school had no prior exposure to formal learning, and this foundation helped them gain confidence in their abilities.
Learning for life

Over time, TSV recognized that education had to go beyond books and exams. The school began integrating life skills into everyday learning, helping students develop problem-solving abilities, clear communication, decision-making skills, and emotional resilience. These skills are crucial for young learners, many of whom come from challenging socio-economic backgrounds, as they prepare to navigate the world independently.
A holistic approach to education

At TSV, classrooms are interactive and focused on learning through practice rather than rote memorization. The school follows a peer-assisted model, where children support and learn from each other. There are no formal exams in the lower classes, allowing students to learn at their own pace in a stress-free environment. Teachers act as guides, encouraging students to explore, question, and think critically rather than simply absorb information. Sports, creative activities, and hands-on experiments are an essential part of daily learning, making education both engaging and meaningful.
A school that cares

TSV ensures that students receive the care and support they need to stay healthy and focused to aid their learning. Midday meals, nutritious snacks, and regular health check-ups are provided to keep children in good physical health. The school also teaches students the importance of hygiene, self-care, and environmental responsibility, equipping them with essential skills that benefit their families and communities.
Looking Ahead

For many children at TSV, education is the first step toward breaking out of poverty. With every passing year, more students go on to complete their schooling, find stable jobs, and support their families. As TSV marks 25 years, its mission remains simple: to create a space where children from underserved backgrounds can learn, grow, and build a future they can be proud of.
