Thiruvanthapuram, the capital of Kerala in South West India is a delightful mix of the cosmopolitan and the traditional. The city is named after Lord Vishnu, reigning over the eternal, as Padmanabha Swamy. A beautiful, ancient temple dedicated to the Lord dating back to the 8th century is an important pilgrimage point for the Hindus.
