I think to seek power from the spiritual teacher is merely a carryover, an extension of seeking power and luxuries from this world into the spiritual field. I would call it spiritual entertainment and I think no genuine spiritual Guru should be wasting his time and energy performing these wonders and diverting the genuine aspirant’s mind.
