Everybody has a little bit of tamas, rajas, and sattva, the proportion being different in each person. The main problem is when, especially those on the spiritual path, begin to mistake tamas for sattva. Because sattva is also by nature actionless, quiet, and tranquil. In sattva guna, you don’t have to do any activity. Very often, the tamoguna is mistaken for sattva.
