If by torturing oneself, one could reach the Supreme, it must be a funny Supreme who has decreed that a person should torture himself in order to reach Him. If you starve the body, the brain ceases to function. When the brain ceases to function, you cannot think clearly. Without thinking clearly, one cannot arrive at a solution for anything, leave alone the serious problems of Truth and Enlightenment.
