Sri M speaks at the UN meet of Peace Makers at Bangkok, Thailand

Sri M had been been invited by the United Nations to participate in the meeting on the role of religious leaders from the Asia-Pacific region in preventing incitement to violence that could lead to atrocity crimes held on Dec 6-7 at Bangkok, Thailand.

Adama Dieng, Special Adviser to the United Nations Secretary-General on the Prevention of Genocide who had participated in the International Summit for Peace and Harmony at Varanasi in December 2015 and was a honoary guest to the commemorative Walk of Hope 2015-16 event at Varanasi, had taken the initiative of conducting the UN Meeting on the role of religious leaders from the Asia-Pacific region in preventing incitement to violence that could lead to atrocity crimes.

Indian participants invited include Imam Umer Ahmed Ilyasi ( President of the All India Imam Organisation), Bibi Kiranjot Kaur ( Member-Trustee-Shiromani GurdwaraParbandhak Committee (SGPC), Swami Chidanand Saraswati (President Permarth Niketan Ashram), and Sri M, President of ManavEkta Mission and the Satsang Foundation.

The Walk of Hope 2015-16 film was screened in a special evening session on December 6th at the UN meet and was greatly appreciated by all present. Among the present dignitaries included Adama Dieng, Under Secretary-General and United Nations Special Adviser on the Prevention of Genocide, Mohammed Abu-Nimer, Senior Adviser to King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz International Centre for Inter-religious and Intercultural Dialogue (KAICIID) Center, Bishop Duleep Kamil De Chickera, Bishop of Colombo, World Council of Churches, Rabbi Stanton Michael Zamek, Rabbi of the United Jewish Congregation in Hong Kong, Johnston Barkat Purnaka Lohendra Dasilva, Director, Institute of Strategic Studies and Democracy (ISSD) Malta, Mohammed Abu Nimer Senior Advisor, KAICIID Dialogue Centre USA.
