A state-of-the-art Obstetric facility is fast coming up at the Swaasthya hospital in the Madanapalle campus to address the relatively high maternal mortality rates in rural Andhra Pradesh, despite overall improvement in health care across the State.
Lack of awareness, infrastructure, expertise and logistics has skewed maternal mortality and morbidity rates to the detriment of women in the villages of Madanapalle.
To address this, and understanding that maternal health is critical to the health of the society as a whole, Sri M has made all arrangements to complete the civil infrastructure including outpatient and inpatient areas, prenatal check-up areas, labour room facilities and a maternity ward. The interiors, equipment and technology required to mobilise these are the only things left for it to be fully operational. On completion, the hospital will be able to offer a complete range of clinical facilities for comprehensive maternal health.
The facility looks to address these areas: clinical evaluation for out-patients, counselling and education for prospective mothers as well as folic acid supplementation programmes to prevent Neural tube defects, among others.
A state of the art prenatal scanning facility to identify birth anomalies, evaluate the progress of the pregnancy, and recognise “high risk pregnancies” in time to institute appropriate remedial measures is in the pipeline. Clinical experts will monitor prospective mothers to avoid, detect and treat all pregnancy related complications at the earliest. A state of the art labour room to conduct safe deliveries as well as an operation theatre to deal with Caesarean sections and complex pregnancies are being worked on.
The Satsang Foundation aims to keep the facility up to date with the latest in technology so as to make a true difference to society by saving lives and ensuring good health for mothers and infants.
We look forward to your support in this noble endeavour initiated by The Satsang Foundation under the leadership and guidance of Sri M.
