The Satsang Vidyalaya, Madanapalle hosted its Annual Sports Meet on December 28-29, 2018. The students and faculty from The Satsang Rural School also participated in this annual event.

The opening ceremony included a March Past, oath-taking, and inspirational addresses by dignitaries including the Mandal Education Officer and the Municipal Councillor of Gandhipuram, a locality where several of the students reside.

As per the school tradition, the games commenced with an inaugural match of Tennikoit by sub-junior girls, thus kick-starting two days of field & track events and games including Kabaddi and Kho-Kho.

To the accompaniment of drum-beats, the junior children revelled in games like Biscuit Bite, Lemon and Spoon Race, Sack Race, and Musical Chairs. Track and field events like Sprints, Relays, High jump and Long jump drew animated spectators. Kho-Kho and Kabaddi matches were accompanied by jubilant cheering and resounding applause.

Slow-cycling remained the sober sport as always, with the shortest participant on the smallest bicycle being adjudged first in the juniors category. Refreshments of lemonade, bananas and vegetable pulao added the flavour to the two eventful days.

The meet was declared closed with a flag-lowering ceremony. The much-anticipated distribution of certificates of merit marked the culmination of an intense yet exhilarating physical activity.
