Annadaanam Seva -Serving the hungry, serving the Divine

An activity that benefits others – feed the one who is hungry, share knowledge with one who has none, think of solving the discomfort of one who lives in it, worship the one who is poor, serve him considering him to be Daridra Narayana – the God personification. – Sri M

Feeding the hungry, serving them with reverence and grace, is considered one of the highest means of serving the Divine. Annadaanam Seva finds a special place in Sri M’s heart and lies at the core of The Satsang Foundation. Volunteers across the country have worked over the years offering simple yet nutritious meals to less-privileged and marginalized communities in accordance with Sri M’s vision of fulfilling this most basic human need.

This essential seva reached out to isolated communities in metros and rural areas, providing daily nourishment during the first lockdown of the Covid-19 epidemic under the aegis of the Satsang Seva Mission. Since then Annadaanam Seva has evolved to take on myriad forms depending on the frequency of the seva and the requirements of the recipients – daily, weekly, monthly, seasonal, and festive.

One such festive occasion is currently unfolding during the largest spiritual congregation on Earth at the MahaKumbh 2025, Prayagraj. Daily Annadaanam Seva is being offered from 13 January to 26 February, serving freshly-prepared, warm meals to sadhus, pilgrims, and spiritual seekers through the entire 47-day celebration at the Yogadham Akhada of The Satsang Foundation.

You too could be part of this endeavor by helping us support our hungry brethren during this extraordinary event.
